Lesson 3: Determining Provider Reimbursement

Lesson 3 focuses on Determining Provider Reimbursement in an Alternative Payment program, which covers the application of the regional market rate ceiling, appropriate adjustments, reimbursable hours of care and how to review an attendance record to determine if the hours of care are broadly consistent with the certified hours.

Lesson 1 focuses on the Environment Rating Scale requirements, which provides an overview of where resources may be found to implement this component.

Lesson 2 focuses on the Education Program, which reviews the regulations and where resources may be found to implement this component.

Lesson 1 focuses on the Developmental Profile, which provides a brief overview of the desired results development profile, including where the desired results tools, training and resources may be found.


Lesson 2: Desired Results Parent Survey 

Lesson 2 focuses on the Desired Results Parent Survey, which covers the specific regulations as it pertains to the distribution, collection, and analysis of the parent survey.


Lesson 3: Annual Program Self-Evaluation

Lesson 3 focuses on the Annual Program Self-Evaluation, which covers the desired results self-evaluation process, reporting requirements, and program analysis, along with providing agencies with tools to help them through the process.

Lesson 4 focuses on preparing for a contract monitoring review in a center-based program. The goal of this lesson is to reinforce participants’ skills in preparing an agency for a successful program review and to walk away with a plan and tool to self-monitor State program operations on an ongoing basis.

Lesson 1.1 & 1.2: Family Data File

Contractors shall establish & maintain a family data file for each family receiving child care and development services. 


Lesson 2: Family Size

Lesson 2 focuses on documenting & determining family size. The lesson also includes a review of multiple family size scenario’s. 


Lesson 3.1 & 3.2: Eligibility

Lesson 3 focuses on how to determine and document child and family Eligibility. Documentation of eligibility is another piece of the family data file. It tells the story of the family’s eligibility.


Lesson 4: Need for Services

Lesson 4 focuses on a parent's Need for Services, such as Employed, Vocational Training, Actively Seeking Employment, Seeking Permanent Housing and Incapacity

Lesson 5: Family Fees 

Lesson 8 focuses on Family Fees for full-day programs. This lesson covers how to use the family fee schedule, the assessment of fees, exemptions, credit for fees paid to other service providers, payment, how to handle delinquent fees, and recording keeping


Lesson 6.1 & 6.2: Application for Services

This lesson includes a step by step completion of each area of the application for either need-based programs or part-day State Preschool/Severely Handicapped programs. 


Lesson 7.1 & 7.2: Recording Attendance

Lesson 7 focuses on Recording Attendance in either a Center-Based or Alternative Payment programs. Please note, to learn how to report attendance or calculate provider reimbursement, the lessons may be found within the Fiscal and Data Reporting course.


Lesson 8: Inventory 

Lesson 8 focuses on Inventory, which covers what is required to be part of an agency’s equipment inventory record, disposal of items and reconciliation of records.
